Though the original Tron was a commercial failure, it became a cult classic thanks to scenes like this light cycle race.
One of the most famous scenes was when Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) was forced to compete in the light cycle game.

Tron is a 1982 American science fiction film released by Walt Disney Productions. The film was scripted and directed by Steven Lisberger, based on a story by Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird. Not a great movie, but that scene was great. Ironic that they weren't allowed to compete for the Special Effects Oscar because they used a computer. Now that's about the only kind of effects we see.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the storyboards for Tron were ahead of their time technologically speaking. I wish Tron Legacy had been better, especially given the technology. The soundtrack was good though.
