The movie Galaxy Quest (1999) had a bunch of amazing creatures. Some of the most memorable were the "Cute But Deadly Aliens." One of the creature designers was Jordu Schell (300, Avatar, Face\Off) and he shared some of his designs on his site.
For reference, here's what they looked like in the movie.

What do you think of the illustrations? Would you take any of them home as a pet?

They look like illustrations for a kids book. Speaking of kids, I think those "cute but deadly" aliens are a lot like mine. :)
ReplyDeleteLaurita, you're hilarious. LOL They do look child like. Thats his style.
DeleteOnly if by pet you mean I can keep them chained at intervals and use them like a defensive perimeter. That would be the only way.
ReplyDeleteThey would make awesome guard animals Jordan. The burglar thinks it's a cute little puppy and CHOMP!
DeleteMost of those were more deadly than cute. I thought the final version was the best.
ReplyDeleteThe second to last one is closest to the final design Nigel. It definitely works.
DeleteNo way, you've got to be kidding me! Its the razor teeth that make a distinct impression.
ReplyDeleteSpacer guy, you're right. Those teeth look fifty feet long
DeleteI guess its the smile, we associate a smiling face with friendliness and they do look kinda cute. Hope your having a great week! Amanda
